Important 1841 Lancaster County, PA Mennonite Needlework Sampler. Signed Mary Nissley March 1841. With birds, hearts, strawberries, flowers, etc. Verse reads "Mary Nissley is my name, Mount Joy is my station, Heaven is my dwelling place & Christ is my salvation. When I am dead & in my grave, & all my bones are rotten, when this you see remember me, Else I shall be forgotten". 18" x 15-1/2". In a later molded frame, 24" x 20" overall.
