Mystery Artist (19th Century, or possibly earlier). An original oil painting on board. A pastoral French mountain landscape depicting fishermen figures to foreground and a pond surrounded by a hill, trees and other botanical forms, with houses and other architectural elements, and to distance a fortified castle with additional architectural elements, and a village or town beyond a larger body of water. All under a pink, orange, and blue sky at sunrise. No apparent signature. Presented in an ornate carved frame with gilt embellishments.

Condition: Fair overall condition having mild age related surface wear. Shows older restoration to wood board down center. Frame with mild to moderate wear to edges and corners, and evidence of gilt loss. Estate fresh to the market.
