Sven Birger Sandzen (February 5, 1871 - June 22, 1954), better known as Birger Sandzen, was an American painter best known for his landscapes. I have produced most of his work by him for him while working as an art teacher at Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas. It was fortunate for American and Kansas art when a young Swedish artist named Sven Birger Sandzén decided to immigrate to Lindsborg in 1894. Sandzen became one of Kansas' best known artists.
Born in 1871 in Sweden, Sandzen developed a love for art at a young age. Educated at Swedish universities, Sandzen went to Paris to study with professors, where he learned about Pointillism and Impressionism.Bethany's founder, Reverend C. A Swensson, encouraged Sandzen, 23, to come to Bethany College to lead the school's art department. He claimed that he never had to get in the mood to work and that no matter how busy his schedule was, he always found time to paint. The most important foundations of Sandzen's art were "order" and "quality of life." Every part of his work of him on him was planned; His colleagues said that he was interested in two works of art: the one he was working on and the one he was planning.
