Description
Pair of English brass fireplace tool rests or fire dogs, after the designs of Thomas Jeckyll (1827 - 1881) or his brother Henry Jeckyll (1838 - 1917), made by the firm of Robbins & Company of Dudley, England. Each rest features a finely cast sunflower on an arched stem mounted on a trestle form base with flattened coiled feet connected by a top rail incised with Japanesque patterning and a rope twisted bottom rail. Registration mark on verso for 1879. 10 7/8” H x 5” W x 7 ¾” L. Late 19th century.
