A LARGE RUSSIAN CHURCH ICON OF THE NATIVITY OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST, NORTH RUSSIA, 18TH CENTURY, painted in colorful egg tempera on board. 43 1/2" x 28" Provenance: Estate of Robert William Guynn, Houston, Texas.
Condition
Paint craquelure throughout, some small paint losses, old touch-ups/overpainting scattered throughout, the board is curved (possibly for mounting on large church interior column) and has some vertical cracks.
