A RUSSIAN ICON OF MENAION FOR DECEMBER, 19TH CENTURY, painted in polychrome egg tempera colors on board and representing the various saints and feasts celebrated during the month of December. 12" x 10 1/2" Provenance: Estate of Robert William Guynn, Houston, Texas.
Condition
Some small spots of overpainting, craquelure, very small spots of paint loss scattered throughout, gilding wear, small scratches from use, surface wear, and buildup, board has a normal slight curve and has the two slats (shponki) on the reverse.
