Description
Made by J. & E. Stevens Company. Cromwell, Connecticut - Mid 1880's. A recumbent chinaman dressed in the garb of a coolie invites us to play a hand of poker with him. Pennies placed in his jacket pocket are deposited when the lever is pressed. At the very same time, his hands change position. He grins at you, knowing that he's cheated you as he pulls four aces from up his sleeve. This fear of the exotic unknown foreigner was known as "Yellow Peril".
