Description
Canvas bears the following inscription verso: "Copied in the Royal Academy in the year 1838 by M_. _.Taylor from the original in the Dulwich Gallery / A. J. Oliver". This inscription indicates this painting may be a copy after a work by Archer James Oliver, which itself may be a copy of an old master work. Dimensions: (Frame) H 37" x W 32" x D 3" (Painting) H 30" x W 24.5" Condition: In need of restoration; large tear to canvas along the left edge; old strip lining or repair to upper edge of canvas visible from the reverse. Previously varnished. Painting with craquelure and a few small paint losses; surface dirt and grime throughout. Frame with cracks and losses.

Items must be picked up or shipped in the time frame of Monday, September 18th - Friday, September 22nd, 9am-5pm, WEEKDAYS.
