Description
An original black & white photo of Mrs. John Drew's Arch Street Theatre dated 1863. Owned & operated by Mrs. Louisa Drew from 1861-1878. John Wilke's Booth (who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln in 1865), was a stock performer for the 1857 season, and periodically returned to perform up through the early 1860's, including under the management of Louisa Drew (Mrs. John Drew).
A highly detailed photograph, right down to the sandwich board signs out front advertising Mrs. John Drew's Theatre, including the date of May 03rd, 1863 as that of the next performance. Period frame & glass, measuring 12.5" x 14.5"
