Description
VIRGINIA RIB-TYPE WOVEN-SPLINT BASKETS, LOT OF TWO, white oak, each of converging-rib kidney form with arched handle, the large example being covered with half being hinged on a metal frame lifting for access, the small example with wrapped double rim. Each retains its original dry, natural surface. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 15" HOA, 10" H rim, 13" D rim; and 7" HOA, 4 1/2" H rim, 7 1/2" D rim.

Condition
Small example in excellent condition, large example with some areas of losses, primarily to bottom, scattered breaks, and slight warp to lid.
