LATE 18TH CENTURY FRENCH EMBROIDERED MAN'S SILK WAISTCOAT PANELS, silk, chenille, and watercolor on cream silk with linen backing, each panel with a pocket and collar, featuring embroidered foliate and floral motifs, lower edge with a water fountain having painted water and a rock to the side, surrounded by embroidered trees and foliage, one half with embroidered silk buttons down one edge, the other half with button holes. Late 18th century. Each panel 25" HOA, 10" WOA.

Condition
Good to very good visual condition with light toning, some scattered stains and spotting, scattered losses to embroidery thread notably to chenille including around fountain motifs, silk with some holes mostly being small in size, and shattering along edges, arm holes with unfinished edges, buttons with scattered losses to silk and thread.
