Description
NEW ENGLAND FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY TAMBOUR DESK, two-piece construction, the top featuring two drawers above a central door concealing an interior divided for ledgers, flanked by tambour doors, each concealing two drawers above three cubby holes, the base featuring a fold-out writing surface above four graduated cock-beaded drawers, the whole raised on tall modified-French feet flanking the cut-out skirt. Original brass pulls. Mainly white pine secondary wood with a few pieces of poplar. Retains a rich surface. Circa 1810. 52 1/2" HOA, 34 1/4" H writing surface, 39" x 18 3/4".
