Description
GERMAN IRON-BOUND STEEL STRONG BOX / TRAVEL SAFE, rectangular form with the lock in the hinged lid and accessible by a keyhole hidden by a swiveling rosette, bail carrying handle, the box with applied cut-out straps to corners, front and back, front with faux keyhole, raised on compressed ball-form feet, original key. Retains partial early, possibly original painted surface. Probably Nuremberg. 17th century. 5 1/2" H, 7 1/4" x 5 1/4".
