Dish made in porcelain that presents an ornamentation based on a central tondo where it is possible to appreciate the figure of a personage mounted on an elephant. The eaves of the piece are decorated with a garland of flowers in shades of gold and pink. In early 18th-century China, a number of technical advances in the manufacture of porcelain ware were developed that provided a host of unprecedented decorative effects. In particular, the Yongzheng period saw a boom in the refinement of the manufacture of this highly prized material. The pieces made during this short period are highly valued both for their small number and for their enormous technical quality.
