Andrew O'Connor (Irish/American, 1874-1941). Gilt bronze sculpture, conceived 1902 titled "Pro Patria" (For Country). Inscribed 'O'CONNOR (along the base). Inscribed 'M' and stamped with the A.A. Hebrard Cire Perdue foundry mark (to base). Inscribed 'PRO PATRIA' to rear of shield. Exhibited: New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1984-85 (on loan); Denver, Denver Art Museum, 1990-2023 (on loan). (25 H x 8 1/2 W x 7 D inches].
