Description
A Large Japanese Patinated and Acid Etched Bronze Figural Group, Meiji Period, depicting a dramatic scene of two tigers attacking an elephant, raised on a burl wood base, incised mark to the underside of elephant.
Dimensions: height overall 19in; width of base 21 1/2in; depth of base 16 1/2in; height of bronze 13 1/2in; width of bronze 17 3/4in; depth 12in.
Condition
General marks and wear to the patination and surface. The elephant is lacking one tusk. Typical marks, scuffs and surface scratches to the wood base.
