Attributed to Elias Pelletreau (American, 1726-1810) Rare Strand of Gold Bead Necklace Made for Lydia Howell, circa 1795-1800, each-5mm, with later applied gold clasp, 14 1/4" L. Accompanied with loan documents from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, dated Jan. 21, 1936, and exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum for the Elias Pelletreau, Long Island Silversmith Exhibition in 1956 and listed as item No. 1 in the catalog. Note: Accompanied with a genealogical illustration of the lineage and descendants of Lydia Howell. Provenance: Mortimore Howell Cobb, Palm Beach, Florida (1904-1986), the oldest living survivor of the Titanic, Sold for the Trust of June C. Underhill-Cobb, Atlantis, Florida.
