Authentic WWII Poster "Cadets for Naval Aviation"
This is an original World War II poster from 1942 by artist McClelland Barclay who was the premier artist for Naval recruitment posters during WWI, original prints are quite rare. This was issued right before the U.S entered into the war. This is in great condition professionally framed under Museum UV-protected glass.

Artist History: Barclay reported for active duty in 1940. He started in New York illustrating recruitment posters for two and half years making his posters some of the most recognizable posters from that time. Barclay eventually served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters on the USS Arkansas, USS Pennsylvania, USS Honolulu, and the USS Maryland. His career came to a grim end on July 18, 1943 when he was reported missing in action while aboard the USS LST-342. The USS LST- 342 was torpedoed in the Solomon Islands.
Barclay was awarded the Purple Heart Medal posthumously. He was also awarded the American Defense Service Medal, Fleet Clasp; the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal; the American Area campaign Medal. and the World War II Victory Medal.
