Description

This is what is most likely the earliest known railroad document from Wisconsin railroads. It is a 20 page booklet of the Acts Incorporating the Milwaukee Waukesha and Mississippi River Railroad, dated May 19, 1849. This railroad became part of the Milwaukee Road, through the following lineage—Milwaukee and Mississippi, Milwaukee and Prairie Du Chien, Milwaukee and St Paul, and finally, the Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul. Another item that is likely a one-of-one item, and another must-have for the serious Milwaukee Road collector. Excellent piece, with some staining due to the 174 year old acid paper, and only minor frays.
