Description
Group of four Inuit soapstone carved sculptures. Each signed in syllabics along the underside. The eagle with extended wings is by Toonoo Sharky and is titled "Eagle," 1997. The bird with a face along its back is by Suqualuk Akesuk and titled "Bird and Face (Transformation)," 1994.
Provenance: Feheley Fine Arts, Toronto; Private Minnesota collection.
Also included is a carving of a walrus and a carving of a polar bear; both of these carvings bear an "Eskimo Art Canada" igloo sticker along the underside.
Height ranges from 2 1/2 in to 5 1/4 in; width ranges from 3 1/2 in to 6 in; depth ranges from 1 3/4 in to 6 1/4 in.
