With a printed cotton canton, the machine-sewn cotton stripes are paint-inscribed in Japanese and Kangi calligraphy welcoming the President, "At Berkeley/U.C.BK/ 1962 3-23th," and requests that he remember "S.F. Calif./ U.S./ No. 8393630."
