Prosper Lecourter Bronze Sculpture of Wolfhound with two lambs, 17" tall, 12" wide, all original, well listed artist....The French sculptor Prosper Lecourtier was born in Meuse in 1851. He received his artistic training under Emmanuel Frémiet (1824-1910) in Paris. In 1875 he first took part in the exhibitions of the Paris Salon and was henceforth regularly represented with works.Lecourtier repeatedly received the prestigious award of a medal; at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900, he obtained, for example, the bronze medal. As an animal sculptor, the artist is best known for his lifelike depictions of dogs. Monumental bronzes of the artist are exhibited, for instance, in Buenos Aires or in Wassy, France. Lecourtier died in 1924
