Fine English Hepplewhite Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine Brandy Board
late 18th century, mahogany veneer, oak and pine secondary, the rectangular case featuring a bold central inlaid paterae, banded veneer edge, intwined line inlay to top edge, good rear chair-rail overhang, applied cove molding to underside of edge, central bow-front drawer with robust double handled inlaid urn flanked by two concave deep drawers each with elegant vertically inlaid urn and ribbon and interior lead liner and dividers, upper stiles with inlaid bow and ribbon, central corner blocks with bow/vine and berry motif inlays, six square tapered legs with dark wood line inlay and inverter point above block cuff with inlaid rosette.

Stamped "EDWARDS & ROBERTS" (at top edge of left drawer); founded in 1845, Edwards and Roberts became synonymous with high quality furniture, both as cabinet makers, and as "Importers of Ancient Furniture". They were known for restoring fine quality items worthy of their stamp.

Shrinkage crack to top at left side; veneer separation, minor chipping and repairs at top edge; break and repair to left rear leg; pulls are old and in the original holes.
