Dave Yust (American, b. 1939). Circular Composition #130 (C.I.5. #114) lithograph, ca. 1970s. Edition 47 of 80. Signature, title, and edition number handwritten in pencil below image. A striking circular lithograph by Colorado artist Dave Yust, presenting a composition comprised of mesmerizing geographic biomorphic shapes housed within a circular format in shades of purple, aqua, seafoam green, and azure blue. In the artist's words, "Since the early 1960's my artworks have been about exploring and trying to resolve the dichotomy of combining geometric and biomorphic/organic imagery." Yust was recently featured in a solo exhibition at the Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art entitled "David Yust: Evidence of Gravity & Other Works". About the Artist: "Dave Yust was born in 1939 in Wichita, Kansas, and began his academic career studying aeronautical engineering and architecture at Wichita State University and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Art ultimately prevailed: even before his college courses, Yust briefly studied art with the renowned Birger Sandzen in Kansas for a summer in 1951. Yust received his BFA from the University of Kansas in 1963 and moved to Colorado that same year. He then completed an MFA at the University of Oregon in 1969. He taught art at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, for 47 years beginning in 1965. Yust gained recognition and awards as an educator and his work is exhibited widely in Colorado and across the United States." (Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art)

Condition
Signature, title, and edition number handwritten in pencil below image. Artwork is mounted behind glass in a custom matte and metal frame. It has not been examined outside the frame but appears to be in overall very good condition save minor waviness and slight crease marks. Frame has minor scuffs but is otherwise intact and very nice. There are some stains on cardboard on the verso that have not impacted the image. Fit with suspension wire.
