NEAR PAIR OF GEORGIAN STYLE OPAQUE TWIST CORDIAL GLASSES AND A PLAIN STEM GOBLET 20TH CENTURY the cordial glasses each with a bell shaped bowl with a solid base incorporating tear drops, raised on an opaque twist stem with a central multi-ply corkscrew enclosed within two multi-spiral bands, on a stepped circular foot, 15.5cm high; the goblet with a drawn trumpet bowl with a diamond etched inscription, 'Each ravished ear extols the Heavenly heart / Which soothes our cares and elevates the art / Mounseir George Ravoue / Nov 21st 1733 / Eliz Eaton her glass', over a tapering plain stem with a single tear drop, raised on a slightly conical round foot (19cm high) Qty: (3) Provenance: The late G. A. Cannon, Chelsworth, Suffolk The lines inscribed on the drawn trumpet goblet are taken from the Allan Ramsay poem entitled 'To the Music Club' (1721).
