DESCRIPTION: Seventeen silk jewelry boxes made circa 1930. Some with minor decorations of jade. Multiple fabric colors and designs. Made from silk from the late Qing dynasty/early Republican. PROVENANCE: George Henne November 1866 - June 2, 1938. By inheritance to J. Fuller, Pennsylvania. Jade and related Chinese antiques imported by George Henne, Sole Proprietor, 311 East 23rd Street, New York, NY approximately from 1900 to 1935. Some use in lockets and boxes for small valuables. MEASUREMENT: 5-1/2" to 8" wide x 3-3/4" to 6-1/4" deep x 1-1/2" to 3-1/4" high. CONDITION: Significant tearing and fraying consistent with age. MEG
