Description
The elaborate, monumental Exhibition Halls and Palaces of late 19th and early 20th century World's Fair complexes were built using molded staff (a mixture of plaster of Paris, concrete, water and hemp) on wood framing. The fragment being offered here was, according to the owner/consignor, obtained from Carol Diaz-Granados, a member of the 1904 World's Fair Society. Carol is a professor at Washington University who has conducted on site archaeology digs in Forest Park to find and examine remnants of the World's Fair.
