Description
STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SOUP TUREENS, LOT OF TWO, each having brown/sepia transfer, comprising one example with "Venetian Scenery", as printed to underside, featuring a gondola and towered buildings, and one example featuring "Oriental / Flower Garden" #2 & #3, as printed to underside, depicting pagodas, a family, and urns with flowers. Additional marks to underside include printed cartouche with "CELTIC CHINA / EW&S". Together with a ladle featuring a landscape with alternating house and floral border. Three pieces total. Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem; Goodwin, Bridgwood & Orton, Lane End, England. Mid 19th century. Venetian Scenery example 10 3/4" HOA, 12" x 9 1/4".

Ladle undamaged; "Venetian Scenery" example having hairline to base and cover with two minor flakes to interior flange; "Oriental Flower Garden" example having some minute to minor flakes to interior gallery and a rim hairline.
