**First Time At Auction**
Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Inuit / Yupik, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A handmade leather doll figure of a woman dressed in furs and satin pants with beaded facial features. She holds a woven cotton net, perhaps hauling a fish through the ice. The fur used is both synthetic and natural- the fluffy white hood, boots, and sleeve trim might be rabbit, wolf, or fox. The underside of one foot is signed with an indiscernible signature. Native Alaskan made dolls were popular souvenirs that often-showcased traditional lifestyles which made life possible in the region for thousands of years. Size: 11" L x 7" W (27.9 cm x 17.8 cm); 11" H (27.9 cm) on included custom stand.
