Description
DESCRIPTION: Antique carved wood console table composed of a removable top mounted on an ornately crafted base featuring a skirt decorated with qilin, fenghuang (“Chinese phoenix”), bat, and koi fish reliefs shou (“longevity”) crests, and two plaques flanking the koi fish marked with Han characters. Each leg is fashioned as an elephant and the stretcher between the legs is surmounted by a guardian lion (“foo dog”). Finished on table top lip with floral and foliage reliefs and mounted on four feet fashioned as recumbent oxen.
