Description
A mid-20th century Chinese celadon-glazed porcelain vase. After 1949. Faceted footed piece with decorative handles flanking the neck. The front and back sides are garnished with relief depictions of antelopes. Gilt calligraphy on the side facetes, quotes from the Siku Quanshu. Embossed hallmark on the bottom. The Siku Quanshu, variously translated as the Complete Library in Four Sections, or Emperors Four Treasuries, was the largest Chinese collection of books published by the order of the Qianlong Emperor in the 1780s. The Library contained classic literary texts, as well as works on philosophy and history. Collectible Oriental Asian Porcelain Ware And Decor.
