Euphemia Charlton Fortune is known for Landscape, interior, figure and mural painting. A pioneer female artist in a world basically reserved for men, she was an independent, dedicated professional woman in early 20th century California. Euphemia Carlton Fortune was a notable early California who is most recognized for her paintings in and around the picturesque Monterey Peninsula, especially the harbors and coastal villages of Carmel and Monterey. As a professional artist, she lived and worked in Europe during three periods from 1897 to 1927. One of a kind artwork.
