Western Folk Art Style. Unusual and rare carved and painted wood ancestral figure from Nepal. Wearing Western style clothing including a suit with a dress shirt. Possibly representing an official or business person. Remnants of paint under the well developed patina. Western style hat and arms affixed with an old nails. Remnants of a wax export seal from Nepal affixed to the back. 19th Century.

On a plexiglass display base.

Height (including base) - 14 1/2” (37 cm)

PROVENANCE: California collection.

CONDITION : Loss to the brim of the hat in the back. Encrusted, aged patina with paint showing trough in places.
