Native American, Southwestern United States, Zuni, ca. mid-20th century CE. A wearable double stranded necklace strung with heishi shell beads, red coral accents, and mottled pink-tan rhodonite stones carved into birds. The terminal ends have a nickel-brass spacer bead with a hook and eye closure. Fetish bead animals are believed to have inherent powers or qualities that may aid the owner. Size of strand: 28" L (71.1 cm); birds: 1.2" L x 0.2" W (3 cm x 0.5 cm)
