Native American, Southwestern United States, Mesa Verde region, Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi), ca. 900 to 1350 CE. A squat pottery mug formed via the coil-and-scrape technique with an elaborate black-painted linear motif coursing across the exterior walls. Pottery played an important role in Anasazi culture and included both utilitarian and decorative pieces that could be traded with neighboring communities for food or other goods. Size: 5.125" L x 3.75" W x 3.75" H (13 cm x 9.5 cm x 9.5 cm)
