Two Mexican folk art ceramics, includes one Patamban (Michoacan) green on black dish, with floral motifs, one ceramic cazuela, from Santa Fe de Laguna, Michoacan, with codex-inspired hand-decorated design, depicting an eagle on a cactus eating a snake, in reference to the Aztec founding myth of Tenochtitlan (present-day Mexico City)
Condition: Cazuela has repaired section
Provenance: The collection of Michael Moss, who traveled for decades throughout the interior of Mexico acquiring fine folk art pieces to bring back to his Fredericksburg, Texas ranch home
