Antique Louis XVI Style Mahogany Ormolu Mounted Cylinder Desk

19th century, mahogany veneer, one part form, the upper rectangular top with quad-book-matched panel, applied pierced brass gallery surround, scrolled cylinder with central oval book-matched panel with brass surround and surmounted with ribbon bow, pull-out writing slide with inset leather writing surface and six small drawers, three side-by-side drawers, the center with a gilt cupid panel, all four case sides properly finished with book-matched veneers and ormolu trim, the whole raised on four square tapered legs.
44 x 44 x 25.5 in.
Being finished on all four sides, this allows the desk to be centrally located within the room.
