FLOOR CANDELABRA. Circa 1867-1870. By Fourment-Houille & Cie. Foundry. Val d'Osne, France. This chandelier cast as a Grecian water carrier. Founded in 1836 by Jean Pierre Victor Andre (1790-1851). The foundry was known for being fine designers of garden furniture, fountains and lighting; specializing in candelabras and torchieres. The name was later changed to "Fourment-Houille & Cie" in 1867 before another name change in 1870. The reputation for this company was that it was considered to be the best foundry in France and one of the best foundries of Europe during that time period. SIZE: Statue incl top most shade is 72" h.
