Vintage 10kt Ruby Men's Ring, Sz. 10, Appx. 5 CTW, Signed SPCO, 1950's-1960's. The ring is appx. 13mm down the finger and 17mm across the finger with the band being 10mm at top shoulders and tapering to 3mm at the back of the finger. It is signed SP CO and marked 10kt and tests as 10kt with a weight of appx. 6.70 gr. The stone tests as ruby and is likely a lab grown ruby - it is not glass but a crystal grown under proper conditions with the same chemicals and minerals that make up a natural ruby. The crystal is then cut just as a natural ruby would be. The stone is set in a bezel-frame with most of the back closed but an open vertical strip so that light does pass through the stone.
