Description
Native American, North America, probably Alaska, Inuit, ca. mid to late 20th century CE, unsigned. A hand-carved stone sculpture of dark gray-green hue and sizable form depicting a male hunter holding the front limbs of a deceased seal while straddling the creature's body and back fins. Perhaps the hunter is trying to move the seal after killing it or reposition the body for easier harvesting. Size: 8" L x 9.75" W x 13.8" H (20.3 cm x 24.8 cm x 35.1 cm)
