Description
Native American / First Nations, Northwestern United States, Alaska, or Canada, British Columbia, Huna Tlingit, ca. 1959 CE. A hand-carved cedar panel with a relief figure, the face in the iconic Northwest formline style with large ovoid eyes and protruding tongue, perhaps representing a spirit figure or ancestor. This was a piece made for sale and is signed and dated on the verso by an unknown artist and has a wire for displaying. Size: 13.8" L x 5.75" W (35.1 cm x 14.6 cm)
Provenance: private Alamo, California, USA collection, acquired in 1978
