Description
From the ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Ca. 3rd Millennium BCE. Carved alabaster jar features sides that taper from narrow to wide at the tow, with a subtle flared rim. Was likely used to hold cosmetics. Alabaster stone demonstrates wonderful banding and mottling. 5"H (12.7 cm).
