Y.H. Yap (artist bio unknown) oil on canvas, untitled, depicts Lt. General Arthur Pecrival signing the surrender of Singapore by the British to the Japanese on February 15th, 1942, signed and dated lower left Y.H. Yap 1972, sight size 30 1/2" (h) x 36 1/2", frame size 35 1/2" (h) x 41 1/2", PROVENANCE: Commissioned by the Singapore government from the consignors mom's uncle Yap Yin Hock, however when it was completed the government didn't want it, and no reason was given, photo of this event is depicted in a book called Seventy Days to Singapore
Condition
No visible defects, not removed from frame for examination, frame has areas with some form of wear
