Description
Stunning antique Elisha Manross Gothic steeple clock with hand painted patriotic balloon scene door. The upper clock face glass door has what looks to be the original clear piece of glass having bubbles and streaks. This clock has the original paper label affixed to the back on the inside with minimal paper loss. With a little research I've done online I have come to find out that this clock case was made by the Manross factory due to it being 19 and a half inches tall. While doing research on this clock I have come to find out that this wonderful hand-painted door of a balloon with American flags is done by Fenn.Although there is some slight paint loss it is still a beautiful scene.I do believe that most of this clock is 100% all original but I do believe the springs have been changed because they are steel springs instead of brass. It is my belief that the previous owner, who recently passed away, may have had this clock serviced and cleaned because of how clean the clock works are and maybe that is when the brass springs would change to steel springs.I believe the clock case is mahogany.19 1/2" tall x 9 5/8" wide base & 3 1/2" depth, also at base.I was unable to find any Elisha Manross Gothic steeple clocks for sale or even sold so I am putting a wide range for the estimate.
Condition
Very good with a little piece of veneer missing on the left back side of the base.
