Description
Two hand painted 19th century dolls. The first a hand painted peg doll - the head and shoulders in original paint - the forearms and legs appear to be repainted white paint - note the loss on the back of the doll's head, her left lower leg has a loss that is painted over, else good condition - measures 12 1/2"L; the second, a hand painted porcelain character boy doll in original baker's costume, late 19th century - some losses to his hat, but the doll itself appears in very good condition - note we have not attempted to remove the original costume for fear of damaging the clothing - the condition report only includes what is visible in the images - the doll measures 9"L. Provenance: From the Doris Soldner collection, Lake Carmel CT and formally of Kingston NY.
