Description
ÀLEX DE FLUVIÀ (Barcelona, 1966-2015).
"Fabrics I, Fabrics II and Fabrics III", 2000.
Photographs (x3). Copies 1/2.
Signed, dated and titled.
Sizes: 25,5 x 20,5 cm (x3); 25,5 x 20,5 cm (frames, x3).
A graduate in Art History, Fluvià decided to devote himself fully to painting in 1987 when, on discovering Rothko at an exhibition, he was fascinated by the creative process itself. He held his first solo exhibition in 1990 at the Sala Savoy in Barcelona. Since then he has shown his work individually in Barcelona, New York and Milan, and has participated in group exhibitions in Barcelona, Zaragoza, Ghent, Amsterdam, New York, Washington D.C., Madrid, Seville, Alexandria, Cairo and Seoul. In Fluvià 's work, weaves of colours and signs are superimposed, where certain lines are repeated ad infinitum, conceived by the artist as letters of his own inner language. In his own words, his forms, polished over the years, repeat themselves "with the vital rhythm of the heart", transmitting life and movement without the need to refer to material reality.
