This is a Pre Columbian Mayan cylindrical pottery vessel with incised designs and a stippled surface. Purchase receipt 1/23/71 from Frank Elmer Gallery, Madison Ave. Marshal Lee's inventory notes state that friend Isamu Noguchi was very impressed with this piece.
From the Upstate New York estate of Marshall and Kay Lee. Marshall was a well known collector of Pre-Columbian pottery and a talented and well-respected book designer in the publishing industry.
