Graduated left colored edges. Beautiful color illustrations. Helen Wan Annen was a Chinese-American illustrator who was born in New York City in 1914. She studied at the Art Students League of New York and the National Academy of Design. After graduating, she worked as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers, including The New Yorker, Life, and Collier's. She also illustrated children's books, including The Cat Who Went to Paris by Ruth Chew and The Chinese Mirror by Elizabeth Foreman Lewis.
Annen was known for her delicate and detailed illustrations. Her work often featured Chinese motifs and characters. She was a member of the Society of Illustrators and the American Watercolor Society. She died in 1991.
