Antique carved wooden bowl with two cows connected with a yoke , well handled and well used surface patina suggesting years of ceremonial use. Chicha and the sharing of the drink from a Kero has been a tradition for hundreds of years, maybe even millennia. The drink is made from a variety of grains and fruits such as cassava roots, maize, apples and grapes. Sharing drinks could have been used for social arrangements and business deals, Agreements, friendships and kinship were created and acknowledged through drinking chicha from the same quero. This Bowl measures 12 x 3 inches. Bolivia, South America. Provenance: Ex Robert Banks collection, MD.
