Description
Federal Gold Front Banjo Clock, Aaron Willard Jr., Boston, Massachusetts, Circa 1820. The mahogany case applied with gilt molded rope-twist borders, gilt brass eagle finial, the painted iron dial with black Roman numerals, signed "Aaron Willard, BOSTON," the eglomise throat glass gilt stencilled with a basket of fruit beneath a panel enclosing an urn issuing a vine, flanked by brass scroll sidearms, the reverse painted tablet depicting an ecclesiastical building. H: 33 in, W: 10.25 in., D: 3.875 in.
